CHANGE is on its way – a new performance for young audiences

The one that never comes twice in the same way. One and only. Unpredictable. – CHANGE!

The new performance explores adolescence and is intended for children and young people aged 12 to 16. Taking a path beyond conventional approaches, we explore the questions and challenges of adolescence with all our senses wide open, viewing change as an unbroken thread – a condition we all share. What is CHANGE as the main character? How does it move, how does it sound, and how does it change us? We will discover this over time.

The performance explores the boundaries of performance formats, bringing together theatre and concert, poetry and rap, music and contemporary dance, costume design and sculptural form. The aesthetics of pop culture intertwine with abstract movement and the performer's poetic personal texts, creating an atmosphere that encourages the audience to freely explore their inner world, questions of identity and relationship with their surroundings.

Change is being produced by SHOOMA and co-produced by Music Biennale Zagreb (Croatian Composers' Society). The performance is the central element of a wider project that seeks to contribute to the mental health and well-being of children and young people through contemporary art. Psychologists from Hrabri telefon (Brave Phone) therefore advise and follow the development of the performance, which is accompanied by a diverse participatory programme including creative workshops, focus groups of children and young people involved in the creation of the performance, an art and educational booklet, and post-performance discussions.

The premiere will take place in Bjelovar on 5 November 2026 at the Bjelovar City Theatre (Cultural and Multimedia Centre).
